License Details
Your Exia Process license gives you, the user, the right to download, install and use The Exia Process on as many different computers as you like and to connect to unlimited instances of Team Foundation Server. You can use as many instances of the Exia Process simultaneously as you like. For instance if you use multiple computers, you can install and run The Exia Process on all of them.
If another person, or user, wants to use The Exia Process, they need their own license.
The Exia Process reads and writes Team Foundation Server work items. This means that in addition to the Exia Process license, you will may require a TFS Client Access License, or TFS CAL. Following is a brief summary of the TFS CAL requirements.
- If you connect to TFS you normally need a TFS CAL. This is in addition to the Exia Process license.
- If you only create new Work Items you do not need a CAL. For instance a tester who only creates new Bugs in The Exia Process does not need a TFS CAL.
- If you purchase TFS through a retail channel (see Prerequisites) then up to five people can connect to the TFS without a CAL.
If you have an MSDN subscription, then you probably already have a TFS CAL. If you have Visual Studio, then you probably already have an MSDN subscription, and therefore have a TFS CAL.
For more information on TFS CAL requirements, see the Visual Studio 2010 Licensing White Paper.
For more information on Visual Studio MSDN subscriptions, see the Visual Studio Home Page.
