Benefits for Business Analysts

As a business analyst, my biggest single problem is keeping the documentation from becoming irrelevant. The team writes Word documents and I have no way of creating or maintaining cross-referencing of details in the documentation to the work items that the developers are working on. I feel isolated from the rest of the team, and when I try to get details to maintain the documentation, I get stonewalled. Everyone is just too busy.
Then I tried The Exia Process, and that all changed. The documentation feature in The Exia Process is nothing short of revolutionary. I can create documents in moments, and add pages of text just like typing in Word (in fact I can export to Word any time). The big difference though is that everything is tracked, version controlled, and linkable to all work items in the project. This means for instance that we can create a "Release Notes" document, and then whenever a developer is working on a bug, task or story, they just click to add a new page to the Release Notes, right in the context of the bug or task. Later on when I look there are the pages right in the Release Notes. All I have to do is rearrange them and tidy them up. Then I can add my own pages, and the document is ready to go.
Another example, we wanted to track Use Cases, and since The Exia Process doesn't directly support Use Cases, we thought that would be a problem. Well, I just created a Use Cases document, and then when someone was creating a User Story, they just added the page to the Use Case document right there and started typing the Use Case. Later on, all the Use Cases were already gathered together in the document.
The Exia Process documentation feature is a lifesaver. But that's not all that benefits me. From the project dashboard to the ease with which stories, bugs and other work items are captured, everything just flows smoothly. That means that the work items and documentation are always kept right up to date. It's almost like the team has fun doing it!
I feel we're creating better quality software now, because the team is all on the same page. Having quality documentation and work items makes the difference for me.
